Evolve Spa + Boutique – Local Business Spotlight

As a male, when it comes to going to the spa, I’m a little out of my comfort zone.  I don’t know what to expect, what services I need, or even where to go.  Luckily, the staff over at Evolve Spa + Boutique are experts in explaining the services they offer and how they benefit you.  I recently got a chance to sit down with Alisa Galehr, owner of Evolve Spa + Boutique and get to know her and the business a little bit more.

Evolve Spa + Boutique, formerly known as elements a day spa, opened it’s doors 5 ½ years ago with a vision to create a day spa that would deliver the finest services for mind, body, and spirit in our down valley community.  A small space with an urban edge, they offer a place where comfort, knowledge, and personal attention combine to create a memorable and relaxing experience.  Located in the Heart Of Eagle Ranch, Evolve Spa + Boutique employs 10 local residents; 3 massage therapists, 3 aestheticians, and 4 front office staff.

Evolve’s results-focused facials and massages are customized to meet individual needs.  They use the finest quality products in all of our services and offer a full line of professional skin and body care products to hydrate, nourish, and protect your mountain skin. They also offer an extensive facial and body waxing menu as well as sunless tanning, and make-up instruction.

Alisa grew up on the west coast in San Diego, CA.  She and her two boys travel there often to visit immediate family that resides there.  She also spent her formative years in Bloomfield Hills, MI and Doylestown, PA.  Alisa states “I have always been a ‘spa girl’ and loved giving and receiving treatments as a young girl.”  Her first job was at high-end salon in Del Mar, CA working as a receptionist.  “I learned a lot about the business and how to interact with clients by observing my co-workers. I fell in love with the environment and of course all the fun products.” Says Alisa.  She decided to go to cosmetology school and received her certification at the Palomar Institute of Cosmetology in San Diego.  She also had other academic interests, so she went back to school to study at UCSD receiving a bachelor’s degree in communications.

20 years later, she is a business owner using her trade to make the life she desires.   Alisa states “I thoroughly enjoy going to the ‘office’ every day and using my gift to make others feel good and good about themselves. It is a great honor to work with the people in this community. I consider each and every client of mine a friend and value the connections I have made at the spa.”

“I am grateful for my education and my advice to young people struggling to figure out what they want in life is: learn a trade. You can go anywhere in the world and always find a work if you know a trade.”

Releasing tension and stress from our body and mind is what keeps us healthy. Whether you’ve had a long day on the mountain or a busy week on the job, you deserve a little time dedicated to self-care.  At Evolve Spa + Boutique they strive to help grow self-gratitude and wellness through thoughtfully designed spa treatments in a comfortable calming space.

If you’re curious about which service I received, it was a nose hair wax.  Did it hurt?  NO.  In fact, just the opposite, it felt really good.  I walked out of the spa being able to breathe better and not worried about long hairs hanging out of my nose.
