Rocky Mountain Sport Riders (RMSR) began as a group of local dirt bike enthusiasts who wanted to protect the future of off-road motorcycling in Eagle County. The group really started taking shape in the 1990s, officially incorporated in 2010, and became a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in 2013. In 2018, RMSR opened Dry Lake Motocross Park in Gypsum, Colorado.
At the heart of RMSR is a simple idea: We love to ride, and we’re willing to put in the work to make sure we can keep riding.

We sat down with Jenn to learn more about RMSR and Dry Lake Motocross Park.
Tell us the story behind RMSR and Dry Lake Motocross Park?
Rocky Mountain Sport Riders formed around a shared goal of protecting, maintaining, and expanding motorized singletrack trails while building positive relationships with local governments and land managers, including the U.S. Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management.
Another longtime goal was to create a dedicated dirt bike facility for the community. That vision became a reality with Dry Lake Motocross Park, which RMSR developed and now manages in partnership with the Town of Gypsum. Today, RMSR continues to bring riders, volunteers, land managers, and community partners together to preserve and expand responsible dirt bike recreation in Eagle County.
What products or services do you offer? Do you have any signature products/services?
RMSR provides information and resources about local motorized trail systems, along with opportunities for community involvement through volunteer trailhead cleanups, trail maintenance, and new trail construction in collaboration with the U.S. Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management.
Our signature offering is Dry Lake Motocross Park, a 160-acre public dirt bike facility in Gypsum that RMSR manages in partnership with the Town of Gypsum. The park offers six different tracks and riding areas for a variety of ages, skill levels, and riding styles.
We also host a variety of community and educational programs at the park, including youth programs, women’s riding events, skills clinics, races, practice days, and other opportunities that help riders learn, improve their skills, and become involved in the local dirt bike community.
What inspired you to enter this industry?
Dirt biking is a passion of mine, but over the years I’ve come to realize that the privilege of riding and enjoying public lands does not come without effort. Maintaining access requires stewardship, responsible use, education, strong relationships with land managers, and people who are willing to get involved.
That realization inspired me to become more involved with RMSR. Our goal is not only to enjoy the riding opportunities we have today, but to protect, improve, and expand them so they remain available for future generations of riders.
Who is your ideal customer?
Our ideal community includes anyone who enjoys dirt biking or wants to support the future of the sport. That includes riders of all ages and skill levels, as well as parents, grandparents, friends, family members, local businesses, and other supporters who want to get involved.
There are many ways to support RMSR. Becoming a $25 annual member, purchasing a day or season pass to ride at Dry Lake Motocross Park, participating in events, volunteering, making a donation, or supporting the organization through a business sponsorship.
Volunteer involvement is especially important to our mission. We rely on people who are willing to give their time through trailhead cleanups, trail maintenance and construction, projects & repairs at the motocross park, events, and other stewardship efforts.
Where do you see the business in the next 15 years?
We hope to expand RMSR’s outreach and impact throughout the community. We want to increase volunteer involvement in trail stewardship, maintenance, and new trail projects, while continuing to strengthen our partnerships with land managers and local governments.
At Dry Lake Motocross Park, we hope to continue improving the facility, increase participation, and expand the programs and events we offer for riders of all ages and skill levels.
Ultimately, our goal is to build a stronger community around responsible dirt bike recreation and create even more opportunities for people to ride, volunteer, learn, and get involved.
What’s something people might not know about your business?
Something people may not realize is just how much RMSR does beyond operating Dry Lake Motocross Park. A large part of our work happens out on public lands and behind the scenes: working with land managers, maintaining and clearing trails, organizing volunteer cleanups, helping plan and develop new motorized trails, supporting environmental and archaeological studies, and advocating for responsible motorized access.
Much of that work is done by volunteers. We’re not just a dirt bike club or motocross park; we’re a nonprofit organization working year-round to help protect, maintain, and expand responsible dirt bike recreation in Eagle County.
